Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
The greatest player to ever grace the ice of the National Hockey League and still holding a total of 58 records set by him during his career even 24 seasons after he retired from the game, offered here is this pair of Gretzky cards that hail from the 1982-83 and 1987-88 seasons when he posted totals of 196 and 149 points respectively, leading Edmonton to Stanley Cup Finals appearances in each season, hoisting the Cup in 1988. Both O-Pee-Chee release offerings that have been signed by Wayne over the front with crisp blue marker ink signatures that display without issue, each card has recently been received back from PSA where the signatures were certified as being "authentic" and given marks of "10" for the their efforts. Both housed in excellent condition PSA holders that show just a couple of minor scratches/scuffs, it is important to note that the cards themselves have not been graded, just the autographs. In terms of card condition, the 1982-83 example shows light corner wear and a slight diamond cut while the 1987-88 card carries corner wear and a tiny wrinkle at the right border.
