Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
The first American-born goaltender to reach the Hall of Fame, Frank Brimsek backstopped the Boston Bruins to both their second and third Stanley Cups in 1939 and 1941. Having to first supplant well-loved Tiny Thompson, Brimsek became a perennial crowd favourite with the Boston hopeful throughout the majority of his 9 seasons with the club. This framed and signed cut of the HOFer has been mistakenly framed with a photo of previous Bruins netminder Tiny Thompson. The perfect pencil signature cut is approx 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" (exposed), with the photo of Thompson 8" x 10". Both pieces have been double-matted and framed to full dimensions of approx 17" x 21". Brimsek passed away in 1998 at the age of 85.
While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for any damage to frames that occurs during shipping.
