Developing in the junior hockey factory of the OHL's Peterborough Petes, Chris Pronger would hear his name called 2nd overall at the 1993 NHL Entry Draft by the Hartford Whalers. Enjoying an 18-year career spanning the course of 1167 total games with the likes of Hartford, St. Louis, Edmonton, Anaheim and Philadelphia, Pronger would be awarded both the Hart Memorial and James Norris Trophy's for the 1999-2000 season and finally hoist the Stanley Cup in 2007 with the Anaheim Ducks. Also winning gold medals with Team Canada at the World Junior Championships (1993), World Championship (1997) and Olympic Winter Games (2002 and 2010), Pronger would be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2015. Named to six (6) NHL All-Star Games over the course of his career, offered here is this jersey issued to Pronger for use during the 2001 NHL All-Star Game in Colorado. Made by CCM and featuring both "Made in Canada" and size "58" labels affixed to the inner collar, a CCM logo patch sits over the reverse neckline while the emblems of both the NHL and NHLPA have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with an NHL shield crest at the left side and the 2001 NHL All-Star Game crest over the right breast, the front and verso of the jersey have been styled with Pronger's number "44" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals while "Pronger" has been spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Having had a Canadian flag patch added over the left shoulder and a St. Louis Blues logo patch over the right one, an NHL inventory code of “AAA467” has been sewn on over the fight strap, indicating that the garment was one of the five (5) issued for the event. Having not been worn due to Pronger skipping the event because of an injury, the jersey remains in excellent condition with no flaws whatsoever other than some light fraying in the white band over the chest and dust marks over the reverse.
