A veteran of over 1000 National Hockey League games, Alex Tanguay spent 50 games with the bleu, blanc et rouge in Montreal during their centennial celebration season of 2008-09. Donned by Alex on the night of March 14th, 2009 against the New Jersey Devils at the Bell Centre in Montreal, offered here is this Canadiens jersey that is done up in the style of what was worn by the club during the 1945-46 season when they won their sixth (6th) Stanley Cup in franchise history. Made by Reebok and displaying a lone size "56" label affixed to the inner collar, a black marker ink number "2" in penned above to denote the jersey as being a "set 2" offering, which was worn during the game's first (1st) and second (2nd) periods (a new set was worn in the third period and kept by the players). Accented over the reverse neckline and hem with the sewn on crests of Reebok and the NHL, the front of the garment is decorated with a vintage style Canadiens crest in layered tackle twill that also sports embroidered details as well. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Tanguay's number "13" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals, "Tanguay" is spelt out in single layer red twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Displaying a Canadiens centennial season crest over the right shoulder, a team tag has been sewn on inside the reverse hem while a Habs hologram is affixed to the bottom of the "3" on the reverse. Worn for just the two (2) periods, the jersey shows no obvious signs of game-wear and remains in fantastic condition overall.
