Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024

Remembered more for his managerial days then when he served as an enforcer for the mighty Montreal Canadiens during the 1960s, John Ferguson helped lead Team Canada to victory from the bench in 1972 and served as a coach and general manager for the New York Rangers in the mid-to-late-1970s. Offered here, we present this stick used by Ferguson during Rangers' practices in the mid-to-late-1970s. A CCM Custom Pro model offering with a faded "Ferguson" stamp found over the upper shaft, the stick retains its original tape job of white wrapped around the handle/knob as well as the blade. Retaining a largely intact foil accent sticker around the lower shaft, the stick has been signed by Ferguson with a modern black marker ink signature over the bottom of the shaft that displays without issue and shows use via a number of black marks throughout the lower portion of the shaft as well as over the heel and both sides of the blade tape. Also showing wear to the underside of the blade and blade tape, a crack/break is observed under the tape at the toe that is worth noting for accuracy as well.
