Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
Both key contributors to the playoff run that resulted in the Edmonton Oilers knocking off the Boston Bruins for their fifth (5th) Stanley Cup championship in seven (7) years, Jari Kurri and Petr Klima would combine for a total of thirty (30) points throughout the playoffs, with Klima scoring the game-winner in the longest Stanley Cup Finals game in history during game 1. Offered here, we present this pair of game-used signed sticks from both Kurri and Klima that hail from their days with the Oilers. A pair of Koho made examples with both sporting their respective owners last name stamped over the shaft (the Klima example is heavily faded and virtually unreadable), the Kurri stick is a 2210 Silverfibre model from the mid-1980s while the Klima dates to the late-1980s/early-1990s. Both retaining their original tape jobs around the handles/knobs and blades, each stick remains free from any cracks or breaks and both slow signs of game-use via various marks and abrasions throughout while the bottoms of both blades show light wear that is worth noting for accuracy. Additionally, Kurri has signed over the upper shaft of his stick with a black marker ink signature that displays with fading while Klima has also signed his stick, this time with a blue marker ink signature that is personalized with "To Josh" and "Best Wishes", with the signature and inscription also showing fading.
