This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
Originally issued by the Imperial Tobacco Company of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the company's 1912 C46 release was the only Canadian tobacco issue to feature baseball players. Featuring a checklist of ninety (90) cards picturing players from the International League, which had teams in both Canada and the United States of America, the 1912 season was the first season under that name after the old Eastern League collapsed. With its design resembling a plaque over the front, offered here is this collection of seventeen (17) cards from Imperial Tobacco's C46 release. All having been removed from a scrapbook with most exhibiting back damage of varying degrees, the group is paced by the card of 1971 Baseball Hall of Fame inductee Joe Kelley, which is in the range of PR to FR condition due multiple creases. For the rest of the lot, found to be in a variety of conditions, three (3) cards are found in the realm of EX including 17-Corridon, 37-Vickers and 69-Gaunt while the likes of 7-Alperman, 34-Collins, 39-Carroll and 76-Moeller are all seen as being around the scope of VG. For the rest of the group, cards of 8-Nattress, 9-Sline, 48-Batch, 49-Corcoran and 79-Holmes are all in the neighbourhood of GOOD while finally, the group concludes with FR to G range offerings of 10-Rock, 34-Collins, 72-Kissinger and 87-Jordan.
