Playing the entirety of his Ontario Hockey League career in the uniform of the Sarnia Sting, Ryan Van Buskirk would be drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes 100th overall in 1998 as well as 121st overall by the Washington Capitals in 2000. Playing numerous seasons in various minor leagues between 1999-00 and 2009-10, offered here is this OHL Sarnia Sting jersey worn by Van Buskirk during the 1998-99 season. Made by CCM and displaying both Maska and size "54" labels affixed to the inner collar, the CHL logo has been embroidered into the reverse hem while the CCM one alongside it has been covered by a swatch of black twill due to the OHL switching to Bauer branded offerings that year. Decorated over the front with a Sting team crest that displays embroidered details throughout, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Van Buskirk's number "2" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals. Having had "Van Buskirk" spelt out in single layer black twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse, it should be noted that evidence of at least two (2) former nameplates appears underneath the current one on the interior. Retaining its fight strap on the interior, the jersey shows game-wear via staining, stick marks, coloured board paint transfers, board burns, unrepaired small cuts and pilling on the interior.
