Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
While the industry has routinely been dominated by cards picturing sports heroes of various leagues and competitions, cards of other pop culture’s franchises and figures have also always been popular among collectors and fans alike, led by examples from Star Wars, Star Trek, Indiana Jones and numerous others. Up for grabs here, is this large non-sports card collection that includes six (6) complete box sets of SkyBox's "Star Trek - The Cinema Collection" 1994 release as well as a complete fifty (50) card set of the Beatles 4th Series by Topps. Starting with the Star Trek offerings, "The Cinema Collection" includes six (6) factory sets for the films "Star Trek: The Motion Picture", "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan", "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock", "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home", "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier", and "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country". All still housed in their original boxes that remain in good condition and display with just light edge/corner and handling wear, all the boxes still have their cellophane on them but all show varying degrees of rips/tears that are worth mentioning for accuracy. For the Beatles 4th Series release, the fifty (50) cards set issued by Topps is said to be a continuation of the 1964 set that ends with card #165 (this set begins with card #166). Also possibly an unauthorized release and said to have been released either in 1968 or after the Beatles broke up in the 1970s, very few of these sets were printed and sold making them highly collectable for Beatles cards and memorabilia fans. All still wrapped up in their original unbroken seal, the cards remain in an excellent condition overall with just light edge/corner wear being observed throughout the group.
