Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
Regarded by many to this day as the greatest hockey player to ever lace up a pair of skates, the name Gordie Howe is synonymous with the game loved and played by so many across the world. In a career that spanned over five different decades from 1946-71 and 1973-80, fans and players alike will still find Howe’s name near the top of the all-time leaderboards all these years later. Also still one of the most collectable and collected players in the hobby, offered here is this group of six (6) patch/jersey cards all featuring swatches of memorabilia pertaining to "Mr. Hockey". Paced by a 2003-04 UD SP Game-Used "Top Threads" quad patch card that is numbered "5/6" and features swatches of material cut from jerseys worn by Howe, Gretzky, Lemieux and Lafleur embedded over the front, the rest of the lot includes examples of Howe offerings from 2001-02 Upper Deck Premier Collection ("Dual Jersey" - Howe and Gretzky numbered "023/100"), 2001-02 UD SP Game-Used ("Authentic Fabric" - not serial numbered), 2003-04 UD SP Game-Used ("Authentic Fabrics Dual" - Howe and Yzerman gold parallel numbered "13/21" and "Limited Threads" numbered "52/75") and 2003-04 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection ("Ultimate Game Jersey" - numbered "125/250"). All highly desirable and found in their original raw ungraded form, all remain in excellent condition with just light wear to the edges, corners and surfaces that are worth noting for accuracy.
