Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
Featuring a pair of first-round draft selections of the Detroit Red Wings, we have signed sticks used by Dylan Larkin (2015-16) and Anthony Mantha (2016-17) during their rookie seasons/era, accompanied by signed pucks from the pair, a framed photo signed by both (along with Andreas Athanasiou) and five additional items signed by Larkin. First, the Larkin stick is a Bauer Nexus model with “Larkin” factory graphics, the stick has black tape over the blade and white cloth wrap over the somewhat sticky handle. The stick also sports a serial number on the underside of the shaft. Light game-use is exhibited, with wear to the underside of the blade and over the handle. Larkin has added a silver paint pen signature to the heel. Of note, the stick was previously broken and then repaired with the fusing being present at the bottom of the shaft above the blade. The Mantha is a CCM RBZ Revolution model with “Mantha” factory graphics, with a bar code and serial number on the underside of the shaft, with the original rainbow tape over the blade and ribbed-pattern red cloth with reinforcing rainbow strand and “39” handwritten to the handle (“02/12” is written on the top of the knob). Just light game-use is exhibited on the composite, with wear to the blade, lower shaft and handle. The framed photo is 13” x 20” and signed in blue sharpie, framed to 17” x 23”, with both Red Wings pucks signed in silver. The additional signed items include a trio of photos (they range in size from 8” x 10” to 11” x 14”) along with signed copies of the Feb 15, 2016 issue of The Hockey News and The Hockey News Yearbook (2016-17).
