Hailing from a period of time in which the quality of football in the Canadian Football League was regarded as being higher than what was being played south of the border in both the National Football League and American Football League, offered here is this lot that features a plethora (11) of Topps, Post Cereal and O-Pee-Chee CFL starter sets that date between 1958 and 1971, with a breakdown of all that is included listed below;
1958 Topps CFL starter set (39/88) - vast majority in low grade with all having wear to the corners/rounded corners and most have creases. Also include 4 other cards from that set but which were cut.
1959 Topps CFL starter set (26/88) - vast majority in low grade with all having wear to the corners/rounded corners and/or defects to their surfaces, about 25% of the cards have crease/creases.
1960 Topps CFL starter set (57/88) - mostly low grade with all having wear to the corners/rounded corners and/or defects to their surfaces including scuffing/scratches and or stains with a small portion making it to G and VG, about 45% of the cards have crease/creases including 33-Faloney, 38-Mosca, 46-Patterson, 63-Jackson and 76-Shatto. Cards 45-Livingstone and 75-Roundtree are in poor condition.
1961 Topps CFL starter set (52/132) - vast majority in low grade with all having wear to the corners/rounded corners and/or defects to their surfaces and/or scuffing and/or stains. There are 11 cards which were taken out of a scrapbook and have paper residues and/or damage to their corners. Exluding the previous group, there are 18 cards with crease(s) including 76-Jackson and 79-Lancaster.
1962 Topps CFL starter set (66/169) - vast majority in low grade with about 15 cards making it to G or VG. There are 37 cards which were miscut (not straight along the perforated edges) including 52-Parker, 63-Faloney, 67-Henley, 100-Jackson, 76-Hamilton and 130-Roughriders (marked on back). There are also 11 cards with creases.
1962 Post CFL starter set (42/137) - There are 8 cards with creases including 21-Lancaster and 47-Shatto which is in poor condition. The vast majority of the cards are low grade with most cards which were affixed at some point in a scrapbook and have glue and/or paper residues on their backs.
1963 Topps CFL starter set (34/88) - There are 7 cards with tape marks on all corners on their front and backs. There are two cards with back damage and three cards with creases. The remaining 22 cards are mostly VG, VG-EX and EX including 68-Parker, 34-Henley, 30-Faloney (crease) and 24-Getty.
1964 Topps CFL starter set (48/88) - There are 6 cards with crease/creases including 40-Dixon and 88-checklist. The remaining 39 cards are mostly VG, VG-EX and EX including 68-Parker, 34-Henley, 31-Patterson, 17-Keeling and 70-Shatto.
1965 Topps CFL starter set (22/132) - Card 63-Craddock has all four corners cut-off and two cards have creases. The remaining 19 cards are mostly VG and VG-EX with some EX.
1970 O-Pee-Chee CFL starter set (58/115) - There are 8 cards with crease/creases and card 17-Strofolino has a tape mark on its front upper edge. The remaining 49 cards are mostly VG and VG-EX with some EX including 6-Wilkinson, 14-Mosca, 15-Zuger (wax stains/scratches), 92-Helton, 98-Evanshen and 110-checklist (miscut and surface crease).
1970 O-Pee-Chee CFL Push-Out Inserts (2) - Includes 7-Poirier and 8-Colenhour (stains).
1971 O-Pee-Chee CFL Starter Set (80/132) - condition varies incl. cards in G, VG, VG/EX and some make it to EX with close to 20 cards having creases including 71-Gabriel and 103-Reed and card 1-Symons is in poor condition. There is a duplicate of card 12 and there is also an extra eight (8) other cards included which are in poor condition including #132-Checklist.
