Released during the first season of Montreal's still unmatched run of five (5) straight Stanley Cup championships, Parkhurst's 1955-56 hockey card release featured a checklist of seventy-nine (79) cards from the rosters of the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs, with "old-time greats" as well as coaches, managers and each of the two (2) teams' famed venue's also featured in the release. Offered here, we present this starter set of Parkhurst's 1955-56 release. Including forty-four (44) of the seventy-nine (79) cards making up the checklist, majority of the cards are found in the condition ranges of PR to F and FR to G throughout. Missing the cards of 1-Lumley RC, 4-Armstrong, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28, 32, 36, 38-Moore, 47, 48, 49, 50-Plante RC, 53, 54, 55-Lalonde, 56-Vezina, 58-Joliat, 60, 62, 63-Durnan, 64, 66, 68, 70, 74, 76, 78-Montreal Forum and 79-Maple Leaf Gardens, the key cards that are present include those of 3-Horton (FR to G - glue residue on the reverse plus worn surfaces and corners), 24-Primeau (PR to F - worn out surface), 30-Bailey (PR to F - surface worn and dirty), 37-R. Richard (FR to G - multiple tiny creases), 43-Geoffrion (FR to G - corners and surface wear), 44-Beliveau (FR to G - worn surface, mostly in the red area), 45-Harvey (PR to F - paper loss and corner wear), 57-Morenz (FR to G - lightly worn surface), 59-Hainsworth (FR to G - large gum stain on the reverse), 71-Plante IA (FR to G - gum stain and creases), 72-Richard IA (G to VG - gum stain) and 73-Richard IA (G to VG - lightly worn). With the rest of the cards presenting in the condition range of FR to G with some slightly better examples found throughout as well, don't let this one pass you and your all-important collection by!
