Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
A standout with the Michigan State Spartans in the NCAA and a part of the United States U-20 squad that claimed the gold medal over Canada at the 2004 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships, Dominic Vicari would play a lone season in the ECHL with the Toledo Storm and a lone contest in the American Hockey League with the Grand Rapids Griffins during the 2006-07 season. Offered here, we present this AHL Grand Rapids jersey worn by Vicari. Made by Reebok, AHL/Reebok, "Goalie Style" and size "58" labeling are all affixed to the inner collar while Reebok logo patches are in place over the reverse necklines and reverse hem. Also sporting an AHL league patch over the reverse hem, the front of the jersey is decorated with a Griffins team crest that features embroidered details throughout while a Cintas sponsorship patch sits over the right breast. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Vicari's number "30" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals, "Vicari" is spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Of note, there is evidence of a former nameplate under the current one, with its much longer length and other research indicating that the jersey was likely also issued to and possible worn by Logan Koopmans as well. Displaying just light wear via a small board burn over the right sleeve and minor pilling around the collar, a MeiGray patch has been sewn on inside the reverse hem and the jersey comes accompanied by a MeiGray LOA plus COR.
