The 68th edition of the Ice Hockey World Championships, the 2004 rendition of the tournament would see Team Canada win their 23rd gold medal since the inception of the tournament, prevailing over Sweden in the gold medal game while the United States of America would claim the bronze over Slovakia. Suiting up in a total of seven (7) games over the course of the event, including in the final contest against the Swedes and posting a 5-1-1 record with a 2.32 GAA and a .919 save percentage overall, offered here is this patriotic red and white garment worn by Canadian goalie and 2022 Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Roberto Luongo during the 2004 IIHF World Championships in Prague, Czech Republic. Made by Nike, the company's brand/size "58G" tag is affixed to the inner collar along with additional "IIHF Authentic Collection" and "Made in Canada" labels as well. Accented over the reverse hem with an IIHF logo patch, Nike "swoosh" logos are present over the reverse neckline and right breast while the front of the jersey has been decorated with a Hockey Canada team crest that features embroidered details throughout. Having had matching Team Canada alternate logo "heritage" patches placed at the top of both sleeves, matching "Zepter" sponsorship patches have been sewn on over the top of both shoulders as well. Accented over the sleeves and verso with Luongo's number "1" in dual layer red-over-black tackle twill numerals, "Luongo" is spelt out in single layer black twill letters that have been heat-pressed on across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Sporting a Nike Team Sports barcode heat pressed inside the reverse hem and retaining the original fight strap as well, the jersey displays game-wear in the form of puck marks over the front and both sleeves, pilling inside both sleeves and cuffs, a board burn over the right sleeve near the cuff and a red paint transfer over the left sleeve near the cuff. Accompanied by a Hockey Canada LOA signed by Bob Nicholson, the jersey has been photo-matched with Getty Image #50814495 (May 8th, 2004 vs Slovakia - 2004 IIHF World Championships Semi-Final) to the puck marks around and through the crest over the front. Of note, some sweat staining is observed inside of both sleeves and around the collar/left side of the collarbone.
