A Hart Trophy, Art Ross Trophy, Calder Memorial Trophy, and three-time Stanley Cup winner, Evgeni Malkin has been a force to be reckoned with since joining the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2006. A Conn Smythe winner in 2009, and a key cog in the Penguins' back-to-back Stanley Cup championship runs in 2016 and 2017, Malkin has cemented himself as one of the greatest Russian players to lace up the skates. Having played a total of 1145 games in the National Hockey League in his career thus far, all of which have been in the uniform of the Penguins, Malkin has also won a pair of IIHF World Championship gold medals with his native Russia, happening in 2012 and 2014. Offered here, we present this stick used by Malkin during the era of the early-2010s, circa the 2013 NHL Playoffs of 2013-14 season based on research. An Easton V9 model twig with "71 Gino" factory graphics observed over the upper shaft, the stick retains its original tape job of black cloth wrapped around the handle/knob and white over the blade, Malkin has signed over the forehand side of the heel with a fine silver marker ink signature that displays without issue to speak of except for some very minor smudging. Displaying game-use via a number of marks and abrasions throughout the shaft, lower shaft and heel, both sides of the blade tape show a number of puck marks while a couple of small tears are also observed as well.
