Playing five (5) years of junior hockey in the OPJHL with the Hamilton Kitty B's before heading south of the border to the NCAA, Josh Soares would play the entirety of his collegiate career with the University of Maine Black Bears and help the club to a Frozen Four appearance in 2007. Offered here, we present this Black Bears jersey worn by Soares while serving as the team's alternate captain during the 2006-07 season. Made by Nike, the company's swoosh logo as well as size "60" and "Made in Canada" designations are screened over the inner collar while an additional swoosh logo appears over the bottom of the collar. Retaining its fight strap on the interior, the front of the jersey is decorated with a Maine team crest that features embroidered details while the alternate captain's "A" worn by Soares throughout the year is found over the left breast. Displaying Maine alternate logo patches over both shoulders, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Soares' number "18" in single layer navy twill letters while "Soares" has been spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Retaining its fight strap on the interior, the jersey displays game-wear via things like stick marks, board burns, unrepaired cuts and pilling on the interior.
