Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
One of the most important franchises in the National Hockey League and a charter member of the league all the way back in 1917, the Toronto Maple Leafs have claimed a total of thirteen (13) Stanley Cups over the course of their 107 year history and have had more Hockey Hall of Fame inductees than any other franchise. Offered here, is this quintet of Maple Leafs hockey cards dating from 1957 to 1975 from Parkhurst and Topps that includes rookie examples of Dave Keon (1961-62 Parkhurst), Bob Pulford (1957-58 Parkhurst) and Lanny McDonald (1974-75 Topps) as well as an additional card of Frank Mahovlich (1958-59 Parkhurst). All having been individually signed by the player featured over the front of the respective card, all feature blue marker ink signatures that display without issue though it is important to note that the autograph of Frank Mahovlich shows some fading from age. With all the signatures having been deemed to be "authentic" by Beckett, it is important to note that none of the autographs or the cards themselves have been assessed technical grades. All housed in Beckett holders that remain in excellent condition overall, the cards of Keon, Pulford and Mahovlich are all in PR to FR range condition while the Lanny McDonald example displays an image that is slightly off-center as well as a bit of corner and edge wear.
