Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
A trio of legendary Quebec born players who donned the famed sweater of the Montreal Canadiens throughout their respective careers, the likes of Yvan Cournoyer, Jacques Lemaire and Rogie Vachon would combine to win a total of twenty-one (21) Stanley Cup championships during their time in Montreal. Offered here, we present this trio of signed Montreal Canadiens rookie cards that includes the likes of Cournoyer, Lemaire and Vachon with each having been individually signed by the featured player. Hailing from the 1965-66 (Cournoyer) and 1967-68 (Lemaire and Vachon) Topps hockey releases, Cournoyer has signed over the front of his card with a black ballpoint pen ink signature that displays without issue while Lemaire and Vachon have both penned blue marker ink autos over the front of their cards. All deemed to be "Authentic" after inspection by Beckett, the Vachon is the only one sporting a technical grade, having been deemed worthy of a "10" designation for its effort. Of note, only the Vachon autograph has been graded where as none of the three (3) included cards themselves have been. All housed in excellent condition Beckett holders, the cards all show light wear to the edges and corners with the Cournoyer showing an image that is heavily off-center, the Lemaire pen marks over the bottom edge plus the reverse and the Vachon moderate toning as well as surface wear on the front.
