Developing in the OMJHL as a member of the Peterborough Petes and captaining the club to a J. Ross Robertson Cup championship in 1978 as well as an appearance in the Memorial Cup, ultimately falling to the New Westminster Bruins in the Final, Paul MacKinnon would go on 147 games in the National Hockey League with the Washington Capitals between 1979 and 1984 after being selected by the club 23rd overall at the 1978 NHL Amateur Draft. Spending the 1978-79 season with Winnipeg in the WHA and helping them to an AVCO Cup championship in the league's last season before merging with the NHL, offered here is this Washington Capitals jersey worn by MacKinnon during the 1981-82 campaign. Made by Maska and featuring a brand label affixed to the inner collar, an additional size/washing instructions label displaying a size "50" designation is sewn to the interior neck seam as well. Having had a Maska logo embroidered over the reverse hem, the front of the jersey is decorated with an embroidered "Washington" with "Capitals" applied below in single layer tackle twill letters. Also featuring a row of alternating blue or white tackle twill stars under the collar with additional ones in matching style running down the bottom portion of both sleeves, the sleeves and verso of the jersey have been accented with MacKinnon's number "19" in dual layer white-over-blue tackle twill numerals. Also having had "MacKinnon" spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse, the jersey retains its original ribbon style fight strap on the interior and displays game-wear via pilling on the interior plus staining around the collar, lower front and lower reverse and both cuffs, board burns over both sleeves and stick marks over the front, left shoulder, left sleeve and lower reverse.
