Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024

Just the third full-time general manager in the history of the Toronto Maple Leafs, George "Punch" Imlach named himself head coach in 1958-59, and was well respected by the senior blue and white players despite his often tough, even harsh coaching style. Imlach would claim four Stanley Cup championships from behind the Leafs bench, and receive enshrinement to the HOF in 1984. We have a collection of five Leafs documents signed by Imlach, including Darryl Maggs Standard Player's Contract for 1979-80. First, we have a Standard Assignment Agreement "B" form for Jack LeClair dated October of 1951, followed by a Requisition for Cheque Payment for Len Lunde dated October of 1968. Next, there is a Standard Assignment Agreement for Gary Dineen dated August of 1967 that is also signed by Bobby Orr discoverer Wren Blair, a contract addendum for Don Luce from 1981, and the aforementioned Contract for Darryl Maggs from 1979-80. Imlach has signed each document in a variety of different inks, with each signature flawless with no issues. Other signatures appear on each document except for the requisition. The documents themselves show just light handling wear.
