A long-serving captain for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Mats Sundin is currently the Leafs' all-time leader in goals and points. Drafted first overall by the Quebec Nordiques in 1989, Sundin would also represent his native Sweden on numerous occasions throughout his career, winning an Olympic gold medal in 2006. Up for grabs here, we have this stick used by Sundin as a member of the Maple Leafs during the 2006-07 season of play. A blue coloured Easton Synergy model with "13 Sundin" factory graphics over the shaft with an inserted wooden plug observed at the top, the stick retains its original tape job of white over the knob that has a heavily bled "X" penned to it in marker ink and black around the blade. Having been signed by Sundin over the heel area on the forehand side with a silver marker ink signature that displays without issue, the stick, a model used by Mats for just a short period of time near the beginning of the season, shows good game-use via a heavy amount of now dried and darkened gripping agent over the shaft and numerous marks/abrasions throughout the shaft, lower shaft, heel and toe sections. Additionally, light marks are present over both sides of the blade tape as well as a pair of small tears on the forehand side. Originally gifted to former Maple Leaf, Mike Walton, and displayed at his bar/restaurant in Toronto, the stick will come with a Classic Auctions LOA
