The sixth (6th) season in which they played in the National Hockey League, the 1984-85 edition of the Edmonton Oilers saw them enter the year as the defending Stanley Cup champions and play to a record of 49–20–11 with 401 goals for and only 298 against. Led by a group of eight (8) future Hockey Hall of Fame inductees (seven players and a coach) that included Wayne Gretzky, Glenn Anderson, Paul Coffey, Mark Messier, Jari Kurri, Kevin Lowe, Grant Fuhr and Glen Sather, the Oilers would repeat as Stanley Cup champions, defeating the Los Angeles Kings, Winnipeg Jets and Chicago Black Hawks in the process before knocking off the Philadelphia Flyers in the Stanley Cup Finals, losing only three (3) games in the entire playoffs while out scoring their opponents 98–52. Named on June 5, 2017 as the "Greatest NHL Team" ever based on a fan vote as part of the league's centennial celebrations, offered here we present this Clarence Campbell trophy that was presented to Swedish-born superstar, Willy Lindstrom, for the Oilers status as Campbell Conference playoffs champions. 11” in height, the silver-plated handled cup with removable lid and chased detailing sits atop a hexagon-shaped 3-inch wooden base, and is engraved "Willy Lindstrom - Edmonton Oilers - 1984-85" on one side, with the name of the trophy and its "1968" year of inception on the other. Remaining in overall fantastic condition with just a bit of light tarnishing to the backside of the bowl, the handles and the lid, a couple of small nicks to the wooden base are also worthy of being reported while the green felt bottom is still fully intact. Overall, this desirable NHL award displays beautifully. Hailing from Lindstrom's personal collection, his signed Letter of Authenticity will accompany.
