Drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets with the 62nd overall pick at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Joonas Korpisalo would come over to North America from his native Finland beginning with the 2014-15 season and has gone on to play in the National Hockey League with the likes of Columbus, Los Angeles, Ottawa and Boston during his career. A Calder Cup champion in 2016 and elected to the NHL All-Star Game in 2020, offered here is this stick used by Korpisalo at the 2017 IIHF World Championships. A Bauer Supreme 1S model twig with "Korpisalo" factory graphics over the upper shaft, the stick retains its original white tape job over the areas of the handle/knob, hand grip and blade. Displaying good game-wear via numerous puck marks over both the taped and untaped areas of the blade, paddle and shaft on both the backhand and forehand sides, cuts and small rips are seen over both sides of the blade tape while lots of red post paint transfer marks are observed over the backhand side of the upper shaft and forehand side of the blade tape near the heel. Also showing some wear to the graphics on the both sides of the paddle, Korpisalo has signed over the blade with a blue marker ink signature that displays without issue and which includes and inscription reading "MM PARIISI 2017". A Classic Auctions LOA will accompany the piece.
