Developing in the junior hockey factory of the OHL's Peterborough Petes, Chris Pronger would hear his name called 2nd overall at the 1993 NHL Entry Draft by the Hartford Whalers. Enjoying an 18-year career spanning the course of 1167 total games with the likes of Hartford, St. Louis, Edmonton, Anaheim and Philadelphia, Pronger would be awarded both the Hart Memorial and James Norris Trophy's for the 1999-2000 season and finally hoist the Stanley Cup in 2007 with the Anaheim Ducks. Also winning gold medals with Team Canada at the World Junior Championships (1993), World Championship (1997) and Olympic Winter Games (2002 and 2010), Pronger would be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2015. Offered here, we present this 2007-08 Anaheim Ducks pro-stock jersey that has been customized as a captain's offering of Pronger. A Reebok Edge 1.0 model example with the front and reverse necklines accented with the crests of the NHL and Reebok respectively, a lone size "56" label is affixed to the inner collar. Of note, Pronger commonly wore size "58" and "58+" in these Reebok Edge 1.0 model jerseys and wore size "58" in the years before hand. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a Ducks team crest that features embroidered details throughout, the distinguished captain's "C" has been added over the left breast, with Pronger serving in this role with Anaheim only during the 2007-08 campaign. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Chris' number "25" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals, "Pronger" is spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Exhibiting no signs of game-use and remaining in overall good condition throughout its entirety except for some faint/light marks plus some foxing in the numbers on the reverse and a small stain in the front crest, the jersey retains its original fight strap on the interior and displays a Ducks "2007-08 - Set #4" team tag inside the reverse hem. Of note, Pronger missed a good amount of time that the fourth (4th) set of jerseys were in use (a playoffs set was also used) when compared with images showing Rob Niedermayer's Set #4 from the same season. Out of the lineup because of an injury between March 12th and April 6th as well as all six (6) playoff games, this information plus the lack of game-wear and the sizing differences all contribute to leading us to believe that this was never a jersey actually issued to be worn by Pronger himself.
