Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
A product of the United States National Team Development Program that was drafted 1st overall at the 2006 NHL Entry Draft after a lone season as a member of the NCAA's University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, Erik Johnson has gone on to play 987 games over the course of his career in the National Hockey League thus far, suiting up for St. Louis, Colorado, Buffalo and Philadelphia over that time and hoisting Lord Stanley's cup in 2022. Offered here, we present this team-issued Erik Johnson St. Louis Blues jersey from his rookie season of 2007-08. Made by Reebok and displaying a lone size "58+" label affixed to the inner collar that has had a "3" (Set 3) designation penned to the top of it in blue marker ink, the front and reverse necklines of the garment have been accented with the crests of both the NHL and Reebok respectively. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a familiar Blues team crest that features embroidered details, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Johnson's number "6" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals while "Johnson" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Retaining its original fight strap on the interior and void of any team tagging like other "set 3" examples we were able to find, the jersey remains in excellent condition overall with no signs of wear except for a small patch of pilling over the lower front on the interior caused by a fabric snag/the fight strap.
