Drafted 4th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins at the 1986 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Zarley Zalapski would play eleven years in the NHL, siting up for Pittsburgh, Hartford, Calgary, Montreal and Philadelphia during that time. Registering a total of 384 points during his time in the league and playing in the 1993 NHL All-Star Game, offered here is this Hartford Whalers jersey worn by Zalapski during the 1993-94 season before he was traded to the Calgary Flames on March 10th, 1994. Made by CCM, a Maska Ultrafil tag displaying Zalapski's number "3" in black marker is affixed to the inner collar along with a size "50" fly tag while the logos of CCM and the NHL shield have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Whalers team crest in layered tackle twill, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Zalapski's number "3" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals while "Zalapski" is spelt out in single layer navy twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Displaying a Custom Crafted team stamp on the inside of the reverse hem that denotes the jersey as being an "Official Hartford Whalers 1st Set 1993-94 Season" offering, the jersey exhibits excellent game wear in the form of stick marks throughout the piece, board burns over both sleeves, board board paint transfer marks over the left sleeve and reverse, team repairs over the right cuff and left forearm, pilling around the cuffs and collar, an unrepaired cut/hole near the right cuff and spot stains throughout, it is also worth noting that the sleeves have been shortened and taken in to Zalapski's liking and that the fight strap has been cut from the interior, which also shows good pilling throughout.
