Drafted 4th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins at the 1986 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Zarley Zalapski would play eleven years in the NHL, siting up for Pittsburgh, Hartford, Calgary, Montreal and Philadelphia during that time. Registering a total of 384 points during his time in the league and playing in the 1993 NHL All-Star Game, offered here is this Pittsburgh Penguins jersey worn by Zalapski during the final portion of the 1989-90 NHL regular season. Made by CCM, a faded Maska Ultrafil label is affixed to the inner collar while the jersey itself measures out to between roughly a size "48" and "50". Having had the CCM logo embroidered into the reverse hem as well as "Century Sports", then the Penguins customizer, the front of the jersey is decorated with a heat pressed on Penguins team crest while the sleeves and verso have had Zalapski's number "33" heat pressed on in dual layer style numerals, with the numbers on both the sleeves and verso showing light-to-moderate wear/flaking from age. Also showing some wear to the head of the penguin over the front, "Zalapski" is spelt out in single layer heat-pressed on black letters that have been applied directly to the material over the upper reverse and show just light wear/flaking overall. Displaying overall good game-wear and retaining the fight strap on the interior as well as some minor pilling, the jersey shows team repairs over both sleeves and the lower front while stick marks are found over the front, reverse and both sleeves, which also show good board burns also. Finally, additional board burns are observed behind the left shoulder and there is minor spot staining throughout.
