Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
Historic utilitarian relic, this brick was originally part of the foundation to hockey’s most fabled building, the Montreal Forum. Home of the Canadiens from 1924 until 1996, this particular piece of Forum memorabilia is all the more important and desirable as it sports an autograph from Habs' star Yvan Cournoyer. At roughly 4” x 8” with expected excessive weight, the brick has a Forum pin attached along with the handwritten limited-edition number of “735/800” on the underside. Cournoyer has signed across the face in black marker, with the signature standing out well. The brick sports expected wear commensurate with its former use. An attractive display case is included, with a red and gold plaque listing the particulars including the limited-edition number. A pair of COAs will accompany including from Canadian Forum Investments, along with a photo of Cournoyer signing Forum bricks. Accompanying the brick, there is a Canadiens InGlasCo puck signed by Cournoyer in silver paint pen, along with a Cournoyer Canadian Mint $25 rectangular coin in the original case with the small interior pamphlet signed by Yvan.
