One of the modern game’s most prolific goal scorers, Marcel Dionne would top the 100-point total eight times throughout his HOF career, and score more than 130 points three times. Suiting up for the likes of the Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings and New York Rangers over the course of his 18-year National Hockey League career to the tune of 1348 games, offered here, and hailing from a campaign that witnessed the "Little Beaver" net ninety-four (94) points in eighty (80) contests, we have a signed Los Angeles Kings alternate captain’s jersey worn by Dionne in 1985-86, his second-last season in California. A CCM made offering with a crisp Maska Ultrafil label affixed to the inner collar that displays a size "48" designation penned to it in blue ballpoint pen ink, a born-on date label reading "85 10" is found underneath while a purple, yellow and white CCM logo has been embroidered into the reverse hem. Of note, it is worth noting that while most jerseys worn by the Kings in 1985-86 had an Adidas logo over the hem, it has been documented that Dionne wore multiple jerseys including examples without the Adidas logo. Styled over the front of the jersey with a Kings team crest that features embroidered details throughout, the sleeves and verso of the jersey sport Dionne's familiar number "16" in dual layer tackle twill numerals while "Dionne" is spelt out in single layer yellow twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Of note, a couple of popper seams are present at the top edge of the nameplate. Featuring the distinguished alternate captain's "A" over the left breast and the original fight strap on the interior, the jersey displays game wear via a dozen or so stick marks found over the front, reverse and both sleeves as well as some spot stains over the lower reverse. Additionally, Dionne has left his mark on the jersey via a large black marker ink signature over the lower front that displays well despite its age. A Classic Auctions LOA will accompany.
