Playing his junior hockey with the Hamilton Fincups and Brantford Alexanders of the OMJHL and signing as an undrafted free agent with the Detroit Red Wings organization in November of 1979, Randy Ladouceur would go on to a National Hockey League career that would see him play in 930 games over the course of fourteen (14) years in the league with Detroit, Hartford and Anaheim. The last player to wear the number "19" with the Red Wings before the arrival of Steve Yzerman, offered here is this Detroit jersey worn by Ladouceur during his rookie season of 1982-83. Made by Maska, both brand and East Side Sporting Goods labeling are affixed to the inner collar along with a partially torn size "50" label that is attached to the inside shoulder seam. Having had the Maska logo embroidered into the reverse hem, the front of the jersey has been decorated with Detroit's familiar winged wheel team crest that features embroidered details throughout its entirety. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Ladouceur's number "19" in single layer white or red unique cursive style twill numerals utilized only during the 1982-83 season, "Ladouceur" is spelt out in single layer red twill letters across the affixed arching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Retaining its original ribbon style fight strap on the interior of the piece, the jersey shows game-wear via stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves, light board burns and unrepaired cuts/holes over both sleeves, pilling from rubbing up against Ladouceur's gloves at the end of both cuffs and some spot staining throughout, it is also worth mentioning that there is good pilling on the interior as well and that the white areas of the front crest have turned pink from colour bleed.
