One of the larger and more physical defenseman during the era at 6’4”, 225 pounds, Larry Robinson aggressively patrolled the Montreal Canadiens blueline for almost two decades before finishing out his storied 20-year National Hockey League career with a trio of seasons in the California sunshine with Wayne Gretzky as a member of the Los Angeles Kings. A product of the Kitchener Rangers who was drafted 20th overall by the Canadiens at the 1971 NHL Amateur Draft, "Big Bird" would win a total of six Stanley Cups as a player while also donning the maple leaf of Team Canada numerous times including at the Canada Cup. Offered here, we present this Montreal Canadiens jersey donned by Robinson circa 1986, during either the 1985-86 or 1986-87 season based on the former position of the neck tag in the collar and the style of CCM logo seen over the reverse hem. Void of any labeling affixed to the inner collar and sporting a CCM logo embroidered into the reverse hem, the front of the jersey is decorated with Montreal's famed "CH" crest in layered tackle twill while the distinguished alternate captain's "A" has added over the left breast. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Robinson's number "19" in dual layer white-over-blue tackle twill numerals, "Robinson" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Signed by Larry above the fight strap on the interior with a small inconspicuous thin black marker ink signature and having been personalized with "To Dean" above it in matching ink, the jersey displays with excellent game-wear, easily seen first and foremost through the fifteen (15) team repairs that are found over the front and both sleeves. Also showing additional wear via board burns over both sleeves, stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves, pilling throughout the interior, a small blue coloured board paint transfer over the left sleeve and staining throughout, it is also worth noting that there is light pilling around each cuff from rubbing against Robinson's gloves.
