A veteran of nineteen (19) seasons in the National Hockey League equating to a total of 1382 games played over that time, Trevor Linden, a product of the WHL's Medicine Hat Tigers who won back-to-back Memorial Cup championships in 1987 and 1988, would be drafted 2nd overall at the 1988 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks and go onto to play for Vancouver as well as New York, Montreal and Washington in his career. Elected to the NHL All-Star Game in 1991 and 1992 and representing Team Canada on numerous occasions, offered here is this New York Islanders jersey worn by Linden after being acquired by the club towards the end of the 1997-98 season. Made by CCM and sporting both "Goalie Style" and size "58" labels affixed to the inner collar, both the CCM and NHL shield logos have been embroidered into the reverse hem, which has been lengthened to Linden's liking with an extra piece of navy air-knit material. Decorated over the front with a familiar Islanders team crest in layered tackle twill that also displays with embroidered details, the distinguished captain's "C" sits over the left breast, having been added to Linden's sweaters after being given the honour on March 3rd, 1998. Accented over the sleeves and verso with the number "32" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals, "Linden" is spelt out in single layer navy twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Sporting matching alternate logo crests atop of both shoulders, the jersey displays good wear in the form of stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves while board burns are observed over both sleeves as well. Also showing additional wear through minor spot staining throughout, a team repair at the "2" of the left sleeve (which also shows fight like damage in the form of popped seams and separation) and pilling at the ends of both cuffs, it is also worth noting that there is pilling on the inside of each arm and that there is damage/tearing to the fight strap also.
