A veteran of nearly 1400 National Hockey League games since he was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes 2nd overall from the Ontario Hockey League's Peterborough Petes at the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Eric Staal has worn the colours of Carolina, New York, Minnesota, Buffalo, Montreal and Florida during his storied career, winning a Stanley Cup in 2006 with the Hurricanes and suiting up in six (6) NHL All-Star Games. Also having won an IIHF World Championship gold medal in 2007 and an Olympic gold medal in 2010, both with Team Canada and making him the 23rd member of the esteemed "Triple Gold Club", offered here is this black Team Canada third jersey donned by Staal at the 2007 IIHF World Hockey Championships on May 2nd, 2007 in a preliminary round contest against Slovakia. Made by Nike, the company's "swoosh" logo as well as size "58" and "Made in Canada" designations have all been screened on over the inner collar above a sewn on "IIHF Authentic Collection" label while a Nike swoosh appears over the right breast and an IIHF crest sits over the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a vintage style Team Canada crest in layered tackle twill that features embroidered details throughout, matching alternate logo patches are sewn atop of both shoulders while matching Zepter sponsorship patches have been added over both sleeves. Accented over the sleeves and verso with Staal's number "12" in single layer white tackle twill numerals, "E. Staal" has been spelt out in heat pressed on white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Still retaining its original fight strap on the interior as well as a Nike Team Sports barcode that has been heat pressed on inside the reverse hem, the jersey, worn for only a single game, shows just light wear via a board burn next to the "2" on the right sleeve and large fabric snag over the lower reverse while some other light marks appear throughout as well.
