A six time All-Star throughout his exceptional HOF career, Grant Fuhr proved to be one of the best clutch goaltenders during his era, with five Stanley Cup championships won along with the Vezina Trophy in 1988. Having suited up with the likes of Edmonton, Toronto, Buffalo, Los Angeles, St. Louis and Calgary, Fuhr would retire with 403 wins during his career and be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003. Having had the story of his life and route to becoming the NHL's first African-Canadian superstar profiled in the 2018 biopic "Making Coco: The Grant Fuhr Story", offered here is this mask worn during the filming of scenes depicting Grant during his minor hockey days in Spruce Grove, Alberta that has also been video-matched. A Fibrosport made example (Jacques Plante's company) that dates to the 1970s, white paint covers the face of the mask while the original blue and grey layers peek through from underneath. Retaining its original backplate and strapping harness while showing wear through numerous nicks/scratches and puck marks throughout the entirety of the face as well as sweat staining to the straps of the harness. Video-matched with screenshots from the film that show a match to many of the nicks and scratches on the left side of the piece as well as to the way the end of the strap behind the left ear is tied, the mask comes accompanied by an LOA showing the images that display these matches as well as a full backstory of the piece and how it was selected for use in the movie by Fuhr himself.
