Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
Having suited up in the uniform of the Montreal Canadiens for a total of 13-years that saw him win a pair of Stanley Cup championships and play on the “Punch Line” with Maurice Richard and Elmer Lach, Toe Blake would take up the place behind the Canadiens bench starting in 1955-56, winning the Stanley Cup every year in his first five seasons and then three more after that. Up for grabs here, is this copy of Blake's 1937-38 O-Pee-Chee Series "E" (V304E) rookie card. Pictured over the front of the card via a black and white image in his Canadiens uniform in a posed image with the reverse stating that he turned professional with the Montreal Maroons in 1935. Having been inspected and graded by PSA many moons ago, the card has been assessed a mark of VG-EX 4 for its effort. Displaying pleasing centering and even toning, wear is seen to the edges and corners all the way around while a small back mark is present over the left side on the front as well. Housed for preservation and display in an older PSA holder that shows scratches over both sides as well as a couple of scuffs on the backside, don't miss out on this key HOF rookie offering for your all-important vintage collection.
