Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
It’s not often in life that one is able to eclipse their idol, but that’s exactly the case with Wayne Gretzky. On October 15th 1989, Wayne scored his 1,851st point to surpass the legendary Gordie Howe for all-time NHL points leader. This roughly 11” x 14” photo features the dapper pair after Wayne edged past Howe, with each holding pucks with their career points totals displayed. A plaque beneath the photo lists the details, including the limited-edition number of "433/500". Nicely matted and framed to full dimensions of 16 1/2” x 20 1/2”, each legend has signed over his respective image in blue marker, and the signatures show no issues. Ready for a prominent spot on your favourite wall, a JSA Auction LOA will accompany.
