Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024

Leading the NHL in points in six seasons throughout his HOF career, Mario Lemieux made his presence instantly known as a rookie, scoring 100 points in 73 games in 1984-85. A two-time Stanley Cup champion as a player who faced adversity like no other during his storied NHL career and the only player able to be compared to the likes of Wayne Gretzky, offered here, we present this copy of Mario's all-important rookie card that was part of O-Pee-Chee's 1985-86 hockey release, found at #9 in the checklist. Having been signed by Lemieux over the front of the desirable cardboard with an older black marker ink signature that displays well despite a bit of fading from age, the card has been inspected and slabbed by the graders at PSA, who have deemed the autographs to be "AUTHENTIC". Displaying with a bit of toning over the front and an image that is off-center from right-to-left, the card retains good colours throughout and four (4) good corners that show only light touches of wear all the way around. Housed in a PSA holder that shows a couple of light scratches over both sides that are worth mentioning for accuracy, don't miss out on this one for your all-important vintage collection!
