Enjoying a junior hockey career in the OHL with the Cornwall/Newmarket Royals as well as the Peterborough Petes, Todd Walker would go on to play four (4) years of Canadian university hockey at the University of Prince Edward Island and experience one (1) professional regular season game with the AHL's Adirondack Red Wings in 1994-95. Experiencing NHL try-outs with the Hartford Whalers, Detroit Red Wings and Colorado Avalanche, Walker would be inducted into the South Stormont Sports Hall of Fame in 2010. Offered here, we present this Hartford Whalers jersey donned by Walker during the 1992-93 NHL pre-season during his try-out. An earlier jersey from 1990-91 that was repurposed for Walker's use that is made by CCM, a Maska tag that has had Walker's number "63" penned to it in black marker is affixed to the inner collar with tag also showing a size "50" designation in blue ballpoint pen ink. Accented over the reverse hem with the embroidered logos of CCM and the NHL, the jersey hails from the only season (1990-91) that the Whalers wore mesh uniforms with that logo combination on the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Whalers team crest in layered tackle twill, the sleeves and verso of the jersey have had Walker's number "63" sewn to them in dual layer green-over-blue tackle twill numerals while "Walker" is spelt out in matching style letters that have been affixed directly to the material at the top of the back. Still showcasing its original fight strap on the interior, the jersey displays just light game-wear in the form of a light stick mark under the front crest and over the left sleeve while board burns are present through the numbers of the left sleeve and over the right sleeve as well. Additionally, a white coloured board paint transfer mark exists over the right forearm area, light sweat staining is present around the collar and there is very light pilling above each elbow on the interior.
