Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
A company that offered many hockey based promotions throughout the era of The Original Six, Quaker Oats began issuing hockey photo cards of Montreal and Toronto players during the 1938-39 NHL season in conjunction with the “Maple Leaf Bantam Hockey Club” memberships. Offered here, we present this neat little lot that features various Quaker Oats paraphernalia. Including a large vintage Quaker Oats "quick oats" box label that measures 6 1/2" x 9 3/4" at its largest points, the label shows moderate-to-heavy wear including toning, stains and tears around the edges as well as a rough edge at the top of it. Also including a 1948 Quaker Oats Hockey Photos order form from 1948, the piece of paper shows names from both the Maple Leafs and Canadiens and measures roughly 5 1/4" x 3". Showing pen marks over the bottom of the form as well as fold lines, corner/edge wear and light staining over the top edge, rounding out the lot is a group of seven (7) Quaker Oats premium redemption coupons that date between 1929 and 1941 which have all been hole punched and display in a variety of conditions/sizes and lastly, a 1947-48 book of hockey by Dick Irvin, coach of the Montreal Canadiens, that was distributed by Quaker Oats and remains in overall excellent condition with some light staining/toning to the covers plus rusting of the staples.
