A veteran of 897 National Hockey League games played in his fourteen (14) year career, Garth Butcher's professional hockey journey started after he was drafted 10th overall by the Vancouver Canucks at the 1981 NHL Entry Draft from the Western Hockey League's Regina Pats. Having suited up with the likes of Vancouver, St. Louis, Quebec and Toronto and also having worn the red and white colours of Team Canada at the 1982 IIHF World Junior Championships and 1992 IIHF World Championships, winning gold in 1982, offered here, and originating originally from the personal collection of then St. Louis Blues teammate Brett Hull, is this jersey worn by Butcher at the lone NHL All-Star Game of his career, in 1993 at the Forum in Montreal. An air-knit material offering made by CCM, both Maska and size "54" labels are affixed to the inner collar while the CCM and NHL shield logos have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Styled over the front with a large NHL shield crest that is done in layered tackle twill, white twill stars have been sewn on over the lower front and reverse and the Stanley Cup Centennial patch has been added over the right breast. Accented over the left shoulder with an alternate logo patch, the right shoulder sports the all-important 1993 NHL All-Star Game event crest. Having had Butcher's number "5" sewn to the sleeves and verso in dual layer tackle twill numerals, "Butcher" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Remaining exceptionally clean, the jersey displays no discernible marks or other signs of game-wear worth noting.
