Signed by the Toronto Blue Jays as an amateur free agent from the Dominican Republic in January of 1990, Tilson Brito would finally crack Toronto's big league lineup in 1996 and go on to play a total of ninety-two (92) games in the Major Leagues with both the Blue Jays and Oakland Athletics between 1996 and 1997. Later going on to find good success in Asia, offered here is this Blue Jays third jersey prepared for Brito's use during the strike shortened 1994 Major League Baseball season. An all-blue button up garment made by Wilson, a brand label displaying a size "44" designation is affixed to the inner collar as well as a strip tag in the same material as the jersey itself that displays an embroidered "94" year designation. Styled with "Blue Jays" arched across the chest in dual layer blue-over-white tackle twill letters with a Blue Jays team crest over the left side as well that features embroidered details throughout, the jersey hails from the first year this style was utilized. Featuring all the buttons still firmly in place over the front, the reverse of the jersey has been decorated with Brito's number "51" in numbers that match the ones in "Blue Jays" over the front while "Brito" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters that have been arched across the top of the back and sewn directly to the material. Also sporting knitted blue and white striped cuffs at the end of each sleeve, the jersey, issued to but likely never worn, remains in excellent condition with some marks and discoloration observed in the knitted cuffs at the end of both sleeves and a small spot stain near the end of the left sleeve.
