Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024

Selected 7th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 2001, Mike Komisarek debuted with the Habs in 2002-03 and then spent a trio of partial seasons with the Hamilton Bulldogs after two seasons with the University of Michigan. Three NHL clubs would acquire his services, with the US also represented at the World Juniors and World Championships. Obtained directly from the Hamilton franchise, this signed AHL Bulldogs jersey was worn by Komisarek during the 2004-05 regular-season and playoffs. Made by SP Apparel, both SP and size “58” labeling are affixed to the inner collar while the reverse neckline and hem are accented with differing AHL league crests with the latter of the two also joined by an embroidered SP logo. Decorated over the front with a Bulldogs team crest that features embroidered details, the shoulders have Bulldogs alternate logo and Montreal Canadiens crests placed over them. “8” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in dual layer tackle twill numerals, with “Komisarek” in white twill letters across the affixed nameplate. Game-wear is light with just a few small dark marks visible to the front and sleeves, with a small hole to the upper left sleeve and slit to the right sleeve. There is also a small stain over the left breast. There is also evidence of a patch removal on the right breast. As the club had no sponsorship crests on the team jerseys in 2004-05, there is the possibility of recycling from another season. Komisarek has signed the reverse number in black marker.
