Excitedly awaiting lunchtime during the 1974-75 season when mom would remove the box of Lipton Soup from the cupboard and dispatch of the contents, the real prize valued by collecting youngsters – the box - usually discarded by unsuspecting adults, now became the focal point as each featured the cards of two NHL superstars! Seldomly seen, sure to garner interest are these miraculously-preserved complete empty boxes of Lipton Soup from the season that hockey-loving but not necessarily soup-loving youngsters promised Mom they'd eat soup! Found here in complete set from with all fifty-one (51) cards represent via a total of thirty (30) complete boxes that all sport a pair of uncut cards over their reverses. With all the boxes sporting either .35 or .43 price stickers or stamps and with most of the included boxes unglued on the side panel, the premier group includes pairings of Orr/Vachon (creases over both), Orr/Sittler (crease free), Dryden/Clarke (slight surface snow/wear over both) and MacLeish/Dryden (slight surface snow/wear over both), the second group of four (4) features Tallon/Clarke (creases affecting both cards that are heaviest over Clarke with some minor creases to the box itself), Parise/Sittler (light creases to both and bottom flaps of the box), Lemaire/Salming (light scuff over the top edge of Lemaire near the top left corner - Salming vertical) and Stemkowski/Salming (crease free - Salming horizontal) while the third group of notables includes boxes of Patrick/T. Esposito (crease at the top edge of Esposito's card), Parent/D. Hull (tiny crease at the top edge of the Parent), Giacomin/Berenson (crease free) and Hodge/Maniago (crease free). For the remaining balance, most have light bends and/or creases on the boxes which are affecting the cards to various degrees while the list of duplicates includes; Sittler (x2), Orr (x2), Cournoyer (x2), Lapointe (x2), Dryden (x2), Clarke (x2), Lemaire (x3), Salming vertical picture (x2), Guevremont (x2) and Keon (x2).
