Hailing from a trio of seasons that saw the Montreal Canadiens run rickshaw over the entirety of the National Hockey League, posting a record of 177-29-34 in 240 games played on their way to back-to-back-to-back Stanley Cup championships, before adding a fourth straight the year afterwards, offered here is this collection of over 2200 cards from the O-Pee-Chee hockey card releases from 1975-76, 1976-77 and 1977-78.
Starting with the earliest of the three (3) represented sets, sporting a total of 550 to 600 cards that present in the vicinity of EX to EX-MT condition, the key cards included from the set are those of Ken Dryden, Serge Savard, Larry Robinson, Mario Tremblay, Billy Smith, Chico Resch, Clark Gillies, Bobby Clarke, Bernie Parent, Ed Giacomin, Jean Ratelle, Rod Gilbert, Tony Esposito, Dennis Hull, Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito, John Bucyk, Borje Salming, Marcel Dionne, Rogie Vachon, GAA Leaders, Assist Leaders and two (2) different checklists.
For the 1976-77 cards, coming as a group of approximately 400 to 450 cards in the condition ranges of GOOD, VG, VG-EX plus an approx. total of 200 cards in the neighbourhood of EX and EX-MT for their efforts, present are the star cards of Stan Mikita, Rod Gilbert, Brad Park, Jean Ratelle, Lanny McDonald, Gilbert Perreault, Billy Smith, Clark GIllies, Steve Shutt, Bob Gainey, Larry Robinson, Yvan Cournoyer, Serge Savard and Jacques Lemaire.
Finally, for the cards dating from 1977-78, totalling out to an approximate number of 1100 to 1150, the group is seen as being in the condition ranges of EX-MT to NM throughout and includes a number of better cards, such as the rookies of Mike Palmateer and Paul Holmgren as well as Trottier, Smith, Gillies, Dryden, Lafleur, Shutt, McDonald, Sittler, Salming, Barber, Clarke, Parent, P. Esposito, Mikita, Park, Cheevers, T. Esposito and numerous others. A neat collection of some mid-to-late-1970s beauties, it is also worth noting that there are duplicates throughout the entire group.
