Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
Regarded by many to this day as the greatest hockey player to ever lace up a pair of skates, the name Gordie Howe is synonymous with the game loved and played by so many across the world. In a career that spanned over five different decades from 1946-71 and 1973-80, fans and players alike will still find Howe’s name near the top of the all-time leaderboards all these years later. Inducted into the hallowed halls of the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972, offered here is this pair of Howe cards from the 1960-61 and 1961-62 Parkhurst releases. Both having recently been received back from the graders at PSA and both sporting the same posed image of Howe over the front in his bright red Detroit uniform, the earlier of the two (2) displays a mark of EX-MT 6 over its label at the top of the holder while the 1961-62 release has been assessed a VG-EX 4 designation. Both showing with good colours and overall pleasing centering, both are housed in flawless PSA holders.
