Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/26/2024
The home of the New York Rangers, the current Madison Square Garden is actually the fourth such venue, with this latest incarnation opening in 1968. Two major renovations have taken place since, in 1991 and 2013, with the Garden ranked as one of the 10 most expensive stadium venues ever built. We have an original green seat from the famous arena. Approx 31" inches in height and designed to be bolted vertically to concrete, the chair sports finished wooden armrests that show use with a metal "7" tag affixed to the front of the seat. The cushion and seat backing remain tear free, with a single small cigarette burn to the seatback. A Steiner hologram is affixed to the seat, and we should note that the metal sides are in pristine condition, most likely repainted at some point. A pair of braces designed to allow the seat to be bolted to the floor or a base are also included. A Steiner LOA will accompany.
