Hailing from a season that saw the Calgary Stampeders defeat the Toronto Argonauts in the 1971 Grey Cup championship, the 59th awarding to the coveted Canadian football championship trophy, the 1971 CFL season was the 14th year of play for the league but is also considered to be the 18th season in modern Canadian football. A neat little offering, presented here is this collection of seventy-nine (79) CFL Football cloth stickers from the 1971 Mac's Milk release. A premium at Mac’s Milk convenience stores that kept youngsters frequenting to find their favourite player from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats or Toronto Argos, the stickers measure 3" in diameter and sport attractive caricature drawings. In terms of condition, the majority of the stickers remain in especially pleasing condition with just light-to-moderate handling wear and other wear around the edge, with the backings all intact. For the group of Argos stickers, coming in at twenty (20) in total for six (6) different players, represented is Joe Theismann (x1), Leon McQuay (x1), Marv Luster (x1), Greg Barton (x4), Mel Profit (x2) and Dave Raimey (x11) while the Ti-Cats group includes twenty-seven (27) stickers profiling the likes of John Williams (x9), Tommy Joe Coffey (x11), Garney Henley (x3) and Angelo Mosca (x4). Additionally, the set also includes stickers featuring helmets decorated with either team or league logos. With thirty-two (32) of these stickers present within the lot, included are examples for; the CFL (x4), Hamilton (x14), Edmonton (x2), Calgary (x10), Saskatchewan (x1) and Winnipeg (x1).
