Canadian Football League card enthusiasts who have yet to score cards like these will want to consider this batch of the Parkhurst 1952 CFL Football release that hails from a year in which the Toronto Argonauts defeated the Edmonton Eskimos at Varsity Stadium in Toronto. Featuring forty-seven (47) of the one hundred (100) cards that make up the checklist, the Parkhurst cards, (all player cards are considered rookie cards), feature members of the "Big Four" IRFU teams; Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Hamilton, along with 19 instructional (how-to-play-football) cards, written by Ted Reeve. An overall mix of grades ranging from as low as FR to G and as high as EX to EX-MT, the key offering present include those of 30-Wirkowski (EX - slight corner wear and print spots on the reverse), 38-Ettinger (VG-EX - corner wear), 42-Etcheverry (G to VG - corners worn and rounded a bit), 44-O'Quinn (EX - light corner wear), 74-Wagoner (EX to EX-MT), 84-Scott (GOOD - creased), 91-Neumann (EX - slight corner wear), 93-Custis (VG-EX to EX - damage to bottom right corner) and 100-Simpson (G to VG - light crease at the left side of the card). For the rest of the partial set, the breakdown of grades includes; EX-MT to NM (4), EX (6), VG-EX to EX (10), VG to VG-EX (5), G to VG (3), GOOD (5) and FR to G (4).
Additionally, also included with the partial set is a group of extras that totals out to fifty-nine (59) and includes cards mostly in the overall grade range of VG with many of the examples having an area of light pink discolouration over the bottom left. With two (2) cards sporting heavy creases that are worth noting for accuracy, it also needs to be noted that some of the cards have more than a single duplicate. For the notable cards, included are those of 30-Wirkowski (GOOD - stain at bottom right), 38-Ettinger (VG to VG-EX - corner wear), 44-O'Quinn (PR to FR - multiple creases), 74-Wagner (x5 - all EX on average), 91-Neumann (x4 - three around EX and another around VG-EX to EX with slight discoloration) and 93-Custis (x2 - one around FR to G with a crease and the other around VG-EX to EX with a light corner ding).
