Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
A veteran of eighteen seasons in the National Hockey League after being drafted 121st overall by the Philadelphia Flyers at the 1983 NHL Entry Draft, Rick Tocchet would go on to score a total of 440 goals and play in 1144 games with the likes of Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, Boston, Washington and Phoenix. Dating to his time with either the Los Angeles Kings and/or Boston Bruins in the mid-to-late-1990s, offered here is this stick used by Tocchet. A Koho Revolution 2240 model twig with "Tocchet" stamped to the upper shaft, his number "22" has been penned in the same area with black marker ink while "PR" has been written, also in the same area, in red marker ink. Retaining its original tape job of black cloth-over-white on the handle/knob and white covering the entirety of the blade, the current Vancouver Canucks bench boss has signed over the forehand side of the heel on the forehand side with a black marker ink signature that displays well despite some fading from age. Of note, it is also worth mentioning that some of the black cloth tape over the handle has come loose with time. Displaying good game-wear, a number of dark marks and abrasions are present over the length of the shaft, lower shaft and heel of the stick while some red coloured marks are present over the lower shaft as well. Additionally, the blade tape, which is torn over the entire length of the bottom edge and loose, shows dark marks over both sides
